Best Video Camera For Kids

When it comes to choosing the best video camera for kids there are many things that you need to think about. Below I am going to give you some tips on choosing the best video camera for your child and my recommendations.

Tips On Choosing The Best Video Camera For Kids

Start Small – When I say start small I really mean it. Sometimes the smallest cameras give your child the ability to record videos in many more places. When you have a large camera they will most likely feel like people are looking at them. Whether they are recording at home or in public, the less people that watch them as they record, the better.

Don’t Overdo It – What many parents do, including myself, is we want the best for our child. It is because of this that we try to buy our children the best camera that they can get. Sometimes this is not what is best for your kid. What I suggest is that you don’t overdo it and just find something that would work as a good starter camera. The more they use that camera the better they will become at recording and at some point they can opt for something with more features and better quality.

What Will Your Child Use It For – Do you know what your child is going to record with their camera? I ask because every kid has their own style and hobbies. What you need to understand is that if your child is going to record something in water, then make sure the camera is waterproof. If your child wants to record stuff on their bike, then make sure the camera has attachments to connect it to their bike. Just make sure the camera suits your child’s needs.

Is This A First Camera – If this is your child’s first camera and your child hasn’t yet started a vlog, then I recommend you start with something basic. I only say this because you want to make sure that your child actually wants to record themselves vlogging. So many people see their favorite YouTuber’s online and want to do exactly what they are doing but that doesn’t always pan out. Take it slow and make sure your kid loves daily vlogging before you get them the top of the line gear.

Ok, so now you should have some kind of idea as to what you want, so lets dive into some of the best video cameras in my opinion. I have 2 children that do vlogs, my 8 year old child vlogs with a Canon g7X Mark II and my 3 year old does videos on his Vtech Kidizoom Actioncam. I mention this because I know what it is like to have kids that want to vlog, but might not understand exactly how to use the equipment that they are given.

Best Video Camera For Kids

Vtech Kidizoom Duo Camera

The Vtech Kidizoom Duo is probably the best toy video camera on the market today. The camera quality is decent, but the price is unmatched. At less than $40 for a new camera it is a great starter camera for any child. So many people will try to tell you that you need the most expensive video camera around, but the truth is that there are some affordable video cameras like this one that work just as well.

Vtech Kidizoom Actioncam

If you are looking for a waterproof camera for your child, then this camera is a great option. The best part about this durable video camera is that you can take it out of its protective case and attach it to different housings. What children love about the Vtech Kidizoom Actioncam is the fact that it is small and still takes good video. The sound quality on this camera is not the best, but for a child who is just getting started on YouTube, this is a great option. This camera runs around $50 new, so it isn’t the cheapest one on the market, but it is also far from being expensive.

Olympus TG-870

Out of all the video cameras that I am going to show you here, this is by far the most expensive. This camera will run you around $250, but it is a beast. One of the best parts about this camera is that it was built to be tossed around, which makes it the perfect video camera for kids. What most parents like about this camera is that it is waterproof as well as shockproof. What children love about this video camera is that it has a flip up screen so they can see what they are actually recording. When it comes to video quality and durability this is by far one of the best kids video cameras.

Cymas Full HD 1080P

A lot of children want the GoPro type camera. However, an actual GoPro can set you back hundreds of dollars. My recommendation is to get a decent GoPro alternative and start from there. The Cymas full HD camera is a great option for any child looking for a more quality image as well as the additional features of it being waterproof and shockproof. As long as you have the appropriate cases for this camera then you will be just fine.

As you can see there are a lot of different options out there for your child. If you are just wanting a video camera so that your child can use it around the house then you don’t need the durability and ruggedness of some of the ones above. What most people don’t realize is that every camera has a person it is best suited for and that all depends on what they will use it for and how much. Trust me, when choosing a kids video camera you can’t be too cautious because you don’t want to pay for something that will be broken within the week.

Take your time reading this short guide on the best video cameras for kids and make sure you choose the right one. I know your child will be bugging you to get them the top of the line camera like Casey Neistat uses, but you don’t have to. Tips To Become A Daily Vlogger

Vlogging has become a very popular topic recently and with that more and more people have been asking for tips to become a daily vlogger. Before we get into it more I first just want to say that you don’t need to become a daily vlogger to be successful. Some vloggers find success with as little as 1 video per week, but others require 4 to 5 videos per week to achieve the same level of success.

As a daily vlogger you will be responsible for keeping your Youtube channel updated regularly, have great content, and be there when people expect to see you. This might sound simple enough, right? Well, there is more to it than that and I want to give you some tips to become a daily vlogger.

Tips To Become A Daily Vlogger

Keep Your Videos Interesting

One of the very first tips that you need to know about is keeping your videos interesting. When people do daily vlogging the biggest problem that they have is they don’t have enough stuff in their life to keep their audience entertained. It is because of this that you need to figure out ways to keep your videos interesting. Make different types of videos, get people to vlog with you, maybe go somewhere different. Whatever you do, make your videos interesting or people will simply stop watching.

Plan Activities And Promote Them

Something that people have been doing more of lately is planning special activities and then telling their audience about that activity. For example, Roman Atwood told his viewers that he was going to be doing a Smart Car VS. Human Challenge in the coming days and then he did it. He planned an event and told people about it so that they would be more interested in watching it. As you build a little bit of hype around an activity of event you will see the initial surge of people that watch it is higher. This also provides you with some creativity to add into your daily vlogs.

Collaborate With Other Vloggers

Collaborating with other vlogger is one of the ways that most high profile vloggers get their big breaks. They collaborate, which means that they are getting in front of another person’s audience as well as their own. What happens is not only do they build up their subscribers, but the content is usually different. When you partner with somebody to bring new content the videos are always different. If you want to get a new style of video, then collaborate with another vlogger and I guarantee that your style will change.

Ask Viewers For Recommendations

One of the hardest parts about becoming a daily vlogger is the fact that you are always creating content. What kind of content though, that is what is up for debate. This is why I strongly recommend you ask your viewers for their recommendations. When people let you know what they want to see, it makes your job that much easier.

Edit Your Videos

This is probably something that you already do, but you need to go one step further. With daily vlogging you must provide a lot of unique content inside your videos, which means you can’t simply leave the video on the same clip for the entire time. Edit different angles into the clips, use music, add in pictures, and just make your video stand out. With daily vlogging the biggest issue you will face is that too many of your videos look the same, so spice them up a bit with edits.

Mix Life Into Your Niche

Lets talk about a particular vlogger, Christian Guzman. He started his Youtube channel by talking about fitness. Now, he talks about fitness, relationships, business, and life. When you mix your life into your vlog you will see more people actually connect with what you are saying. He started when he was not well known, now he is very well known all over the world. My advice is to have a video each week or every couple weeks that shows more about your day to day life and what you do.

Set A Goal For Yourself

What are your goals? Do you want to vlog every day to give people an inside look into your life? Do you want to vlog daily just for the fun of it? Whatever your reasoning is, make sure you set this as a goal. Make sure your audience knows your goals as well. The more people know about you and what you want to accomplish, the more they will be willing and able to help.

Be Consistent

Daily vlogging is fairly consistent, right? Well, yes and no. vlogging and having a video go live each day is great, but what time do you publish your videos? This is where you need to be fairly consistent. I say this because sticking to an actual publish time is the best way to get people to come back day after day. Everybody wants to see what you have going on, but they can’t see that if you don’t publish each day. Now, if you publish hours after you normally do then what happens is the people that came to the channel to watch your video they might just leave and not watch until the following day.

Interact Daily

If you are not commenting on what other people comment, then you are missing out. The people that comment are adding value to your channel, so make sure you show your appreciation to them. You don’t have to write a huge book, but sometimes a simple thank you is more than enough.

Participate In Trends

When the ice bucket challenge went viral, this would have been a good time to do this on your channel. When people started doing the running man again, then you should have done this as well. Participate in the trends that people are doing. You don’t need to create an entire video on these topics, but at least have a short clip in there about them.

Give Your Channel A Weekly Theme/series

So many people forget about this simple trick that it is ridiculous. All you need to do is give your vlogging channel a topic for the day and stick to that each week. For example, Grant Cardone does something where every Monday he answers questions on real estate. People call in with deals or questions and he answers them live. I am not saying this same topic is going to work for you, but you can at least try something similar to it and stick to it each week.

As you can see, daily vlogging entails quite a bit, but there is a lot that you can get out of it. What you need to remember is that those people watching your videos want to see some unique content, so above all else unique and engaging content will always win out. Hopefully these tips to become a daily vlogger helped you out. If you have anything to add please put it in the comment section below.

Where To Find Music For Youtube Vlogs

When it comes to creating the most appealing videos there is no way around using music. Everybody likes to have music in videos they are watching. Why? People can relate to music, they can relate to the lyrics in the songs and the melody of the tune helps bring the story together. So, when it comes to finding music for Youtube vlogs there really are only 2 places that I strongly recommend.

Where To Find Music For Youtube Vlogs

Soundcloud

Soundcloud is by far the best music sharing site I have ever come across. The best part about Soundcloud is that you can find songs and melody’s that will work for any type of video. Whether you are recording a sad video, one that is supposed to inspire, or one that is very up beat, this is where you should go to find that type of music.

What most people don’t realize about Soundcloud is that it is so big that you might spend hours upon hours looking for the perfect song. Trust me, if you are looking to get a video up quickly and not have to worry about a bunch of options, then don’t go to Soundcloud as you will spend too much time here.

There are a lot of songs here to choose from, but some of them you can’t just stick on Youtube. Many of these songs require that you put the musicians name and website address into your video description. Even if the song that you choose doesn’t require this, I still recommend it as many people watching your videos might want to know what song that was and this is just another way to provide that information without having to post it in multiple comments.

Youtube Music Library

Although this is where most people would look first, I don’t like coming here to begin with. The reason why I like to use Soundcloud first is because they have more music, the tunes are not all the same, and most newer vloggers will never use it.

If you are new to vlogging, then use Youtube Music Library as it is free, easy to find, and integrated right into Youtube itself. The best part about all of this is that you don’t have to waste your time trying to find the sounds that you like, they are right there and it takes only a few minutes to find something that will work.

As you become a bigger Youtuber and you start to learn new things, the channel grows, and you get more views, then it is time to start expanding on your software. This is where Soundcloud will come in handy.

Many big name Youtubers use Soundcloud as well, one in particular is Casey Neistat.

Tips On Using Music On Youtube Videos

Always Use Different Songs

There are a few songs that I use on a regular basis, but only for certain occasions. One of those songs is only played when I take off with my drone, and another only plays when I go underwater. All the rest of the songs are always different.

Why?

I like to use different songs because it breaks up the monotony of the videos. When I am always recording myself in a car or on vacation, then things start to look the same. By wearing different clothes, using different music, and recording with different cameras it really changes things up. Trust me, having variation in your videos is a great thing.

Turn Down The Volume

I don’t want to have to tell you this more than once, but turn down the volume on your music. Yes, the person playing the video could turn the volume down on their device, but this shouldn’t stop you from doing it for them. What I recommend it that you turn the volume down on your editing software so that it matches the volume of the rest of the video. By doing this you won’t hurt your audiences ear drums, which will make them very happy.

Make Sure It Flows

Have you ever watched a Youtube vide that had music in it that just didn’t flow with the type of video? This happens all the time and I for one don’t like it. When somebody is teaching you how to cook a romantic meal and then all of the sudden they put on a heavy metal rock song, this really throws off the vibe of the video. What I recommend is to listen to your clip and make sure that it ties into your video. Don’t make this mistake as many people are repelled by this and could potentially stop watching your videos.

Lastly, never use music for your Youtube Channel if it is not royalty free music or you don’t have rights to use it. Putting copyrighted music into a video means you won’t be able to earn any money from it and after too many times of doing this you can potentially get your Youtube Channel shut down.

Now that you know where to find music for Youtube Vlogs and some tips to get you going, get out there and make the best quality vlogs possible.

What Is Vlogging

Vlogging has increased in popularity quite a bit in the last few years. This is due in part to vlogging actually becoming a full-time income for many people. Once others started seeing how much could be made by vlogging, more and more people started doing it. Not only that, but the cost of some of the equipment has gone down, the tutorials online have gone up, and the exposure to the business as a whole has increased as well. All of these things have contributed to the increase in vlogging and vlogging knowledge.

What Is A Vlog

A vlog is essentially just a blog in video format. For instance, blogging is where a person writes an article to give advice, teach something, or just talk about their feelings, so a vlog would be doing this same thing but recording the entire thing instead of writing it. Vlog stands for Video Vlog or Video Log.

What Is Vlogging

Vlogging is when you are filming your vlog. For example, film is when you record something, but filming is the act of you doing it. That is exactly what vlogging is in relation to a vlog.

How To Become A Vlogger

In order to become a vlogger you just need to start recording and publish your videos online. This is pretty easy to do, but most people don’t feel comfortable getting in front of a camera. It doesn’t matter what it is that you are thinking about recording, just try it and see how it feels. The more you vlog the easier and more comfortable it will become. Trust me, becoming a vlogger is not as hard as many people make it out to be.

Tips For Vlogging

Get Started Today

Getting started is really the hardest part about vlogging. Most people don’t think that they can do it, so they just don’t try. Many people assume that nobody will watch their videos, so they don’t record anything. And many people think that it will not amount to anything, so they give up before they ever try. Don’t give up, get started today, grab your vlogging camera and record.

Relax

Don’t worry about anything, just relax. When recording yourself, relax. When recording somebody else, simply relax. There is no need to worry so much about what is going on around you, focus on yourself and you will be just fine.

Record Record Record

I can’t say this enough, record record record. The more you can record the more vlogs you can publish. I know it can be difficult to record when you don’t feel like it, so record when you do feel like it. Record as much as possible and then start putting the clips together. The more clips you have the more you will be able to edit and combine. Trust me, recording will get easier the more you do it.

Ask For Help

Do you need help learning to record? Do you need help editing your videos? Maybe you need help with what to talk about. When you need help you should simply ask for it. It is almost impossible for somebody to know that you need help unless you ask. Ask before it is too late.

Be Ready To Adapt

When you start vlogging you might have a clear vision as to what you want to vlog about, but that might change. When most vloggers start they start off knowing very little and then as they learn their channel begins to adapt. Be ready to adapt because chances are you will need to at some point.

Vlogging is very simple once you get started, but you will never know that if you never get started. Now that you know what vlogging is and how to begin vlogging, it is time that you give it a shot.

Best Vlogging Camera With Flip Screen

When it comes to the best vlogging camera with flip screen there are really only 2 that I highly recommend. Those two cameras are the Canon 70D and the Canon G7 X. Out of those 2 cameras the one that is more versatile and portable is the Canon G7 X. Now, there are many reasons as to why I like these two cameras for vlogging, but they both have their ups and downs. To see why I recommend each and for what purpose then keep reading. Also, at the end of this I am going to reveal one of the cameras that I really like when I travel, mainly because of how rugged it is. I prefer a Canon vlog camera as they have some of the best picture and sound, but you should be the judge of all that.

Best Vlogging Camera With Flip Screen

Canon 70D

Now, if you are looking for a good cheap camera, then this is not it. I shoot the majority of my videos with a Canon 70D and I love it. This is the one camera that I recommend to any vlogger. Although this camera is more expensive than the Canon G7 X, it does more and is much more durable. This camera also uses detachable lenses, which makes shooting clearer videos much easier. The 70D shoots in stunning 1080P and creates the most professional looking shots. Not only does the screen flip around, it is all touch screen, which helps immensely when choosing which area of the video you want in focus.

The Canon 70D also has a side input where you can connect an external microphone to it. The microphone that I like to use is the Rode Videomic Go. Okay, so you are probably wanting to know what the biggest downfall to this camera is, right? The only reason I would not recommend this camera to a vlogger is because of it’s size. This camera is a full DSLR camera, which means it is about 4 times the size of the Canon G7 X. If you plan on holding this camera for hours each day, then your arms and shoulders will get tired. Now, when it comes to the best vlogging camera with flip screen this is second to none, but there is that one drawback.

Canon G7 X

This camera is very lightweight and portable. The best part about this camera other than its flip up screen is that it shoots in 1080P at 60 frames per second. If that is not enough, Canon added WIfi to this camera as well, so viewing all your videos directly from your phone will be easy. Now, the only downfall about this camera is actually tied to one of the best parts about it. The The Canon G7 X has a flip up screen which is great for recording and seeing yourself, but it is not built very durable. The screen is very thin, which makes it more likely to break.

Deciding between the two cameras should not be too difficult for you, but just know that they both have their uses. If I were just starting out and was not sure what I wanted to shoot just yet, then I would opt for the Canon G7 X for now. The reason is because it can do almost everything the Canon 70D can, but it costs less than half of what it does. If money is not a worry for you and you plan on doing most of your recordings from a tripod, then get the Canon 70D as it has all the bells and whistles you will ever need. When it comes to a good vlogging camera the Canon G7 X really does all that you will need to start.

My Special Camera

Olympus TG-870 Tough – This camera is very rugged and I use this a lot. The best part about this camera is it has almost all the options of the Canon G7 X, but it costs less than half, it is waterproof, it has a more durable flip up screen, and it can withstand 220 pounds of direct force. One thing you will notice about the Canon G7 X is that it is more delicate and is not waterproof at all.

Ok, so now that you know what the best vlogging camera with flip screen is, which one will you get?
