5 Keys To Effective Vlogging

Vlogging is here and it is so vibrant, upbeat and fresh with every post better by the day. There are so many things in the world that you can always Vlog about at any given time. But it all relies on your passion. Everyone has one and that is why you find so many Vloggers everywhere walking with ready-to use camcorders just to capture all those interesting moments they love to talk about. Everyone want to capture everything in their surrounding so that the can get enough material to Vlog about.

It is fun but you also need to be outstanding and that takes times as well as proper preparation and few tips on what to do or not to do.

First things first you need to know what you want to talk about in your Vlog before even writing a script. A Vlog can be of any niche as long as you are familiar and passionate about it. Life is always easier if we put passion into everything we do.

In relation to this you also need to understand your audience and what they want to see or are missing. The topic at times does not matter as long as you can own it and make it seem original in your own way.

Here are few ways you can make you Vlog posts effective in a matter of seconds.

1.     Always Have the Script Ready

You should know what to talk about in your Vlogs no matter the circumstance. Plan ahead and always have the layout script at the tip of your fingers. You should also have a plan on what kinds of shots you are going to do as well as the location. Never rush into Vlogging no matter what, as it will be a total waste of time. Always do everything as per your schedule and it will take you less time to finish.

2.     Have the Camera Ready

Vlogging is always better with the right kind of equipment. But always make sure you have your camcorder ready in case of a spontaneous event or Vlog. Make sure the battery is full and the spare one intact. You can even have the camera man on speed dial and ready at all times. Vlogging at times can be time-consuming and hard to achieve especially if you are working solo or with unreliable people.

3.     Relax and be yourself

As much as you are talking to strangers on the internet always try to be yourself. Everyone is different and brings in a different aura about them. So make your Vlog is more personalized by being real. You cannot fake it or be different all the time. The more you do so, the less people will find you interesting.

Even as people always love to watch random videos on YouTube they also want to know more about the Vlogger. And they can only do so if you are consistent with your little bits of behavior. Talk as if you are talking to a group of close friends, easy, simple and soft.

4.     Always Look At the Lens and Not the Screen of the Camera

When Vlogging always look at the lens and not the camera screen which can be hard to do especially if you have a flip screen camera. A flip screen camera can be tempting but always remember to stay focused and look at the lens and not yourself on the screen. The screen always makes you feel impersonal as viewers will not feel that you are actually addressing them.

5.     Be Consistent

Vlogging is a journey and a career to some. It is one hobby that you can turn into your source of livelihood. So always post and post in a regular manner so as to keep your viewers engaged.  Always make sure you Vlog so as to garner and not lose any subscribers. The more you post the more exposure you get. Be it daily or weekly just make sure it is consistent and of quality. The more you Vlog the better you should be. Essentially you cannot post the same Vlog content quality as you were posting a year ago.

So make your Vlog stand out with some of these tips. They are ideally effective even for beginners.

Where To Find Music For Youtube Vlogs

When it comes to creating the most appealing videos there is no way around using music. Everybody likes to have music in videos they are watching. Why? People can relate to music, they can relate to the lyrics in the songs and the melody of the tune helps bring the story together. So, when it comes to finding music for Youtube vlogs there really are only 2 places that I strongly recommend.

Where To Find Music For Youtube Vlogs

Soundcloud

Soundcloud is by far the best music sharing site I have ever come across. The best part about Soundcloud is that you can find songs and melody’s that will work for any type of video. Whether you are recording a sad video, one that is supposed to inspire, or one that is very up beat, this is where you should go to find that type of music.

What most people don’t realize about Soundcloud is that it is so big that you might spend hours upon hours looking for the perfect song. Trust me, if you are looking to get a video up quickly and not have to worry about a bunch of options, then don’t go to Soundcloud as you will spend too much time here.

There are a lot of songs here to choose from, but some of them you can’t just stick on Youtube. Many of these songs require that you put the musicians name and website address into your video description. Even if the song that you choose doesn’t require this, I still recommend it as many people watching your videos might want to know what song that was and this is just another way to provide that information without having to post it in multiple comments.

Youtube Music Library

Although this is where most people would look first, I don’t like coming here to begin with. The reason why I like to use Soundcloud first is because they have more music, the tunes are not all the same, and most newer vloggers will never use it.

If you are new to vlogging, then use Youtube Music Library as it is free, easy to find, and integrated right into Youtube itself. The best part about all of this is that you don’t have to waste your time trying to find the sounds that you like, they are right there and it takes only a few minutes to find something that will work.

As you become a bigger Youtuber and you start to learn new things, the channel grows, and you get more views, then it is time to start expanding on your software. This is where Soundcloud will come in handy.

Many big name Youtubers use Soundcloud as well, one in particular is Casey Neistat.

Tips On Using Music On Youtube Videos

Always Use Different Songs

There are a few songs that I use on a regular basis, but only for certain occasions. One of those songs is only played when I take off with my drone, and another only plays when I go underwater. All the rest of the songs are always different.

Why?

I like to use different songs because it breaks up the monotony of the videos. When I am always recording myself in a car or on vacation, then things start to look the same. By wearing different clothes, using different music, and recording with different cameras it really changes things up. Trust me, having variation in your videos is a great thing.

Turn Down The Volume

I don’t want to have to tell you this more than once, but turn down the volume on your music. Yes, the person playing the video could turn the volume down on their device, but this shouldn’t stop you from doing it for them. What I recommend it that you turn the volume down on your editing software so that it matches the volume of the rest of the video. By doing this you won’t hurt your audiences ear drums, which will make them very happy.

Make Sure It Flows

Have you ever watched a Youtube vide that had music in it that just didn’t flow with the type of video? This happens all the time and I for one don’t like it. When somebody is teaching you how to cook a romantic meal and then all of the sudden they put on a heavy metal rock song, this really throws off the vibe of the video. What I recommend is to listen to your clip and make sure that it ties into your video. Don’t make this mistake as many people are repelled by this and could potentially stop watching your videos.

Lastly, never use music for your Youtube Channel if it is not royalty free music or you don’t have rights to use it. Putting copyrighted music into a video means you won’t be able to earn any money from it and after too many times of doing this you can potentially get your Youtube Channel shut down.

Now that you know where to find music for Youtube Vlogs and some tips to get you going, get out there and make the best quality vlogs possible.

Best Vlogging Camera With Flip Screen

When it comes to the best vlogging camera with flip screen there are really only 2 that I highly recommend. Those two cameras are the Canon 70D and the Canon G7 X. Out of those 2 cameras the one that is more versatile and portable is the Canon G7 X. Now, there are many reasons as to why I like these two cameras for vlogging, but they both have their ups and downs. To see why I recommend each and for what purpose then keep reading. Also, at the end of this I am going to reveal one of the cameras that I really like when I travel, mainly because of how rugged it is. I prefer a Canon vlog camera as they have some of the best picture and sound, but you should be the judge of all that.

Best Vlogging Camera With Flip Screen

Canon 70D

Now, if you are looking for a good cheap camera, then this is not it. I shoot the majority of my videos with a Canon 70D and I love it. This is the one camera that I recommend to any vlogger. Although this camera is more expensive than the Canon G7 X, it does more and is much more durable. This camera also uses detachable lenses, which makes shooting clearer videos much easier. The 70D shoots in stunning 1080P and creates the most professional looking shots. Not only does the screen flip around, it is all touch screen, which helps immensely when choosing which area of the video you want in focus.

The Canon 70D also has a side input where you can connect an external microphone to it. The microphone that I like to use is the Rode Videomic Go. Okay, so you are probably wanting to know what the biggest downfall to this camera is, right? The only reason I would not recommend this camera to a vlogger is because of it’s size. This camera is a full DSLR camera, which means it is about 4 times the size of the Canon G7 X. If you plan on holding this camera for hours each day, then your arms and shoulders will get tired. Now, when it comes to the best vlogging camera with flip screen this is second to none, but there is that one drawback.

Canon G7 X

This camera is very lightweight and portable. The best part about this camera other than its flip up screen is that it shoots in 1080P at 60 frames per second. If that is not enough, Canon added WIfi to this camera as well, so viewing all your videos directly from your phone will be easy. Now, the only downfall about this camera is actually tied to one of the best parts about it. The The Canon G7 X has a flip up screen which is great for recording and seeing yourself, but it is not built very durable. The screen is very thin, which makes it more likely to break.

Deciding between the two cameras should not be too difficult for you, but just know that they both have their uses. If I were just starting out and was not sure what I wanted to shoot just yet, then I would opt for the Canon G7 X for now. The reason is because it can do almost everything the Canon 70D can, but it costs less than half of what it does. If money is not a worry for you and you plan on doing most of your recordings from a tripod, then get the Canon 70D as it has all the bells and whistles you will ever need. When it comes to a good vlogging camera the Canon G7 X really does all that you will need to start.

My Special Camera

Olympus TG-870 Tough – This camera is very rugged and I use this a lot. The best part about this camera is it has almost all the options of the Canon G7 X, but it costs less than half, it is waterproof, it has a more durable flip up screen, and it can withstand 220 pounds of direct force. One thing you will notice about the Canon G7 X is that it is more delicate and is not waterproof at all.

Ok, so now that you know what the best vlogging camera with flip screen is, which one will you get?
